Guides and supports ECAASU's National Board, ensuring organizational longevity and accessibility while fostering a culture of mutual care and growth.
Anna MacLennan (she/her) is a biracial Chinese American born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She is the Executive Director of ECAASU for the 2023-2025 term and has been with ECAASU for four and a half years, including two years organizing and teaching ECAASU’s High School Program about Asian/American identity, history, and advocacy. Anna is currently a junior at Harvard studying Government, History, and Chinese language. There, she is Co-President of the Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative, former Co-Director of the Chinatown Big Sibling Mentorship Program, and a tutor with the Chinatown Citizenship Tutoring program. In her free time, Anna enjoys many varieties of pasta.
Estelle Kim is the Chair of the Board of Directors of ECAASU. Estelle is a first generation Korean American and she served as ECAASU's 2023 Co-executive Conference Director prior to joining the Board of Directors. Estelle graduated from the University of Virginia in 2023 with highest distinction, and she is currently a Master of Public Policy candidate at Georgetown University studying the intersections of social and health policy. In her free time, Estelle enjoys baking, graphic design, and traveling with friends and family.
Tiffany Mai is the Logistics/Finance Director of the Board of Directors (BoD) for ECAASU. She is a Chinese American woman who recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a double Bachelors' in Health & Society and Chinese. Eventually, Tiffany would love to obtain a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and educate the next generation of college students. In her free time, Tiffany enjoys reading, knitting, dragging her friends to the climbing gym, and going to the Rhode Island Sonic drive-in.
Malena Nong is the Co-Conference Chair of the Board of Directors of ECAASU. Malena is a first generation Cambodian-American. She previously served as the logistics director for the 2023 Conference and as a coordinator for ECAASU National Board campus summits and partnerships. Malena is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Virginia studying biology. In her free time, Malena enjoys baking and going to the gym.
Vivian Tran is the 2024-2026 Co-Conference Director of the Board of Directors of ECAASU. She previously served 3 years on ECAASU, participating in roles including Campus Summits Coordinator, Asian Fashion Awareness founder, Associate Director, Secretary, and more! Vivian graduated from Emmanuel College Boston in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of social impact from her term as President of Asian Student Association. As an alumna, she continues to persist on her project to start an Asia and Pacific Islands studies minor program on campus. She is now a first-year medical student at Drexel University College of Medicine, aiming to spread her impact not only in the context of healthcare but also in social and cultural advocacy. Vivian's favorite hobbies include sketching and painting, almost anything art related.
Suraj Patel is a member of the Board of Directors for Outreach at ECAASU. Suraj is a first generation Indian American student and served on ECAASU previously on National Board for 2 years. Suraj graduated from University of Virginia in 2021 and is currently a Master's student at Columbia University. When free, Suraj is a big fan of rock climbing, reading, gaming, and trying new foods!
Jonah Stern is the Conference-Workshop Director of ECAASU. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 2023 and currently works at UVM's Mosaic Center for Students of Color. As a Vietnamese Adoptee, Jonah has worked hard to advocate and create spaces for adoptee belongingness at UVM, ECAASU, and beyond. He also coordinated ECAASUs High School Program in 2024. Outside of ECAASU, Jonah is a strong supporter of amplifying BIPOC experiences in outdoor recreation. He has led inclusive outdoor trips for BIPOC students, coordinated programs for access to outdoor gear and spaces, and even participated in a documentary representing this view! In his free time you can find him riding his onewheel, playing video games, and watching sunsets!
Michael (he/they) is a second-generation, diasporic Vietnamese person currently living on the ancestral lands of the Seneca, Adena culture, Hopewell tradition, and Monongahela peoples; known as so-called Pittsburgh. Beginning with his involvement with ECAASU in 2020, the many lessons learned from those before them have led Michael to serve as a Political Education chair on ECAASU's Board of Directors. Centering adrienne maree brown's concept of "moving at the speed of trust," Michael sets to learn the lessons of forming critical connections and co-learning as a facet of mobilization, particularly through workshop spaces. In their free time, Michael enjoys cooking for his friends, collecting cute trinkets and stickers, yapping, running D&D games, being chronically online, and hiking marvelous places.
Cheyenne Cheng is one of the Co-Political Education Directors for ECAASU. For their day job they serve as the is the Youth & Programs Director at the Japanese American Citizens League where they oversee the organization's national programs, internships and fellowships, and youth engagement. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, they graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. In their free time they love to tend to their garden, borrow books off Libby, and play with their 3 dogs!
Felicia Yan (she/her/hers) is a Chinese-American from Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022 and is currently a medical student at Drexel University. She has been on ECAASU’s national board since 2021 and was a member of conference team for the 2020-2021 term. In her free time, Felicia likes to bake, run, crochet, and debate which oat milk is the best.
