Oversees ECAASU's strategy and operations, ensuring impactful programs while leading initiatives like leadership development, long-term planning, and coordinating with the Board of Directors.
Anna MacLennan (she/her) is a biracial Chinese American born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She is the Executive Director of ECAASU for the 2023-2025 term and has been with ECAASU for four and a half years, including two years organizing and teaching ECAASU’s High School Program about Asian/American identity, history, and advocacy. Anna is currently a junior at Harvard studying Government, History, and Chinese language. There, she is Co-President of the Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative, former Co-Director of the Chinatown Big Sibling Mentorship Program, and a tutor with the Chinatown Citizenship Tutoring program. In her free time, Anna enjoys many varieties of pasta.
Minh-Thu Dinh is a Vietnamese American based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has over seven years of Asian American community experience, including co-founding an Asian American collective at her alma mater, NC State University and interning at a AAPI voter engagement non-profit. Outside of her work as an electrical engineer, she enjoys strength training, cooking, and volunteering at the Raleigh United Mutual Aid Hub.
Mara is a Filipino and Indonesian American born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i and is now a sophomore at Georgetown University in Washington, DC studying Justice & Peace Studies and English. She is passionate about promoting Asian American representation and creativity and loves to write, sing, and do her makeup! This year, Mara is so excited to be a part of the ECAASU team.
As an alumna of ECAASU's High School Program, Mylieni is ecstatic to continue her journey in ECAASU while pursuing her collegiate goals. Outside of exploring Asian American identities and history, Mylieni loves axe throwing, learning about human anatomy, crocheting, and watching movies. She even has a goal to watch 100 movies by the end of the year! Mylieni is excited to learn about the Asian American experience beyond what she's witnessed in Rockville, Maryland, her hometown, and is grateful for the opportunity to serve on this year's National Board.
Kelly is a Campus Summits Co-Coordinator. She graduated from Cornell University with a major in Biology and Society and minors in Asian American Studies and Global Health. Studying Asian American Studies and leading Asian Pacific Americans for Action has greatly informed her scholarship, activism, and personal development. She is passionate about building solidarity, helping underserved communities and pursuing medicine. She enjoys learning languages, taking photos, thrifting, cooking, and taking care of her many plants!
Cathy is the Campus Summits Co-Coordinator for the ECAASU National Board. Currently, she is studying Biology at the undergraduate level and is most interested in learning about the anatomy and physiology of the body. What she likes most about ECAASU is the community it creates for its members and wants to encourage this community to keep on growing. In her free time, she enjoys hobbies such as cooking and drawing. But, her most favorite thing to do especially is traveling because she loves to explore and learn about new places she has never experienced before.
Emma is a current first-year at Georgetown University and will be this year's ECAASU High School Program Coordinator (and she is also a proud High School Program alum)! With ECAASU, Emma has been able to explore linguistic identity as a Chinese-American and is excited to continue to workshop some of these ideas and many more themes of AAPI belonging through the High School Program. She has also worked with several historical societies to digitally preserve, document, and present Asian American history to the public, and she hopes to continue to make AAPI history more accessible. Emma is originally from Connecticut but has also lived in Beijing, so she has developed a love for cafe-hopping around the city and writing reviews for all the specialty drinks she tries. She can't wait to continue these activities as she returns to the East Coast.
Judy is a rising Sophomore at Georgetown University and the High School Program Coordinator of the 2024-25 ECAASU National Board. Raised between United States and China, Judy is passionate about Asian & Asian American advocacy through curriculum reform in public and private school systems and empowering youth change makers. In her free time, Judy is a graphic designer and enjoys hip hop dance and cooking!
Michelle is a Chinese American who resides in Georgia. She enjoys drawing, photography, and spending her parents’ money on exorbitant amounts of food. Michelle is the Community Events Co-coordinator of ECAASU and is excited to explore this new opportunity!
Cody is a first generation, Laotian student in his third year studying to become a nurse at Stockton University. He stumbled upon ECAASU through being on the executive board of his school club called ASA (Asian Student Alliance) and became extremely interested. His first time participating at ECAASU was spring of 2024. After his first conference he felt like he wanted to be involved more with ECAASU.
Sean is a Senior at Florida State University studying Creative Writing and Human Rights. He has been involved in his school’s Asian American Student Union (AASU) and South Asian Student Association (SASA) for the past three years and is a brother of Lambda Phi Epsilon International Fraternity, Inc. In his free time, Sean enjoys reading, getting hype with friends, being chill with friends, and solitary pondering. He is passionate about music, and you can often find him writing songs or performing with his band, Hey Cheetah.
Gordon Shi (he/him) is a Chinese American from Springfield, Virginia, who serves as Journal Co-Coordinator. He joined ECAASU in 2023 as a co-executive conference director, overseeing the Reconnection and Reflection-themed ECAASU national conference in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 2024, Gordon graduated from the University of Virginia, where he majored in English literature and minored in Chinese and Asian Pacific American Studies. He served for one year as the president of the Asian Student Union. For the duration of his 2024-2025 ECAASU term, Gordon will also be working as a legal intern. Gordon is deeply excited to serve in a position which intertwines two of his biggest passions: advocacy and literature!
Tommy is the Partnerships Co-Coordinator who attended ECAASU last year alongside the UNC Charlotte's Asian Student Association, where he was a part of their executive board as a Public Relations Chair. That same semester, Tommy would join the largest international Asian-interest fraternity, Lambda Phi Epsilon. This semester, Tommy would take his fond memories from his trip to ECAASU and apply it into creating a memorable experience for others for this upcoming conference. In his free time, Tommy enjoys listening to music, dancing, running, and hanging out with friends. He is an extroverted individual who enjoys making people laugh and is always looking to brighten people's days.
Renzogio Garcia is a Partnerships Coordinator of ECAASU. He is a Filipino American from Jersey City, NJ and currently attends Georgetown University studying Finance and Operations & Analytics. On the Georgetown campus, he involved with the Social Impact and Public Service (SIPS) Fund, the Asian American Student Association, and Club Filipino. He is interested in exploring intersectionality and solidarity within the context of the AAPI Community. In his free time, enjoys cooking, tinkering, and reading comics.
Jessicayanti, an Indonesian-Chinese American, graduated with a BA in Mental Health, Psychology from Stockton University in 2021. She transitioned from a career in education to data analytics, currently working for Spencer’s Gifts & Spirit Halloween. Outside of work, she passionately volunteers with ECAASU. In her free time, Jessicayanti enjoys hiking, painting, and attending raves!
Tabu is the Graphics and Social Media Co-Coordinator for this year's ECAASU. She is Bengali-American, born and raised in New Jersey. She is very excited to be able to play a role in this year's conference along with many other amazing board members.
Sawyer is a Chinese American from Kaifeng, China. He was adopted in 2007 and raised in Pace, FL. He is attending the University of West Florida and majoring in nursing. At UWF, he served as the President of the Asian American Student Union during the Spring 2024 semester. Sawyer’s pronouns are (he/him). He enjoys playing sports, specifically football and basketball, listening to music, journaling about his life, and advocacy.
Lena is a first-generation Vietnamese American, born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She's a junior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), majoring in Computer Science. Previously, Lena served as President of UNCC's Asian Student Association, Public Relations Director of the Asian American Studies Collaborative, and founded the Asian Appreciation Association at her local high school. In her free time, Lena enjoys working out, baking, and spending endless hours playing Stardew Valley.
